“Furiosa,” the sequel to the 2015 film “Mad Max: Fury Road,” stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, whose on-screen pairing has set theaters ablaze. The film is performing well not only in India but also worldwide. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 on May 15, 2024, and was released in Australia on May 20, 2024, and in other countries, including the U.S., on May 24, 2024.

In India, the film was released in four Indian languages, with the English version earning ₹5.22 crore and the Hindi version earning ₹2.74 crore between the first and second weekends. As of May 30, 2024, the film has grossed a total of ₹10.44 crore at the Indian box office. Globally, the film has surpassed the $64.8 million mark in box office collections.

“Furiosa” was released in theaters on May 24 and within just four days, it grossed ₹9.227 crore. On Monday, the collection was ₹1.7 crore, with additional collections on Tuesday and Wednesday adding to the total.

In India, the film is performing better in its English version compared to the Hindi version. Starring Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy, “Furiosa” was released in four Indian languages.

Box Office Collections In India (Day Wise)

Talking about the domestic box office collection of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” the film managed to earn only $32 million during its first weekend in its home country, the United States, with an opening of $25.5 million over the first four days. Including the collections from both the U.S. and Canada, the total amounts to $35.3 million. The film was initially expected to gross between $40 to $45 million during the first four days and first weekend in the U.S. and Canada, but it underperformed.

“Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga” has become the second lowest-grossing film over the Memorial Day weekend since 1995, with the first being “Caspel (1995).” It failed to break the record of the 2015 release “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which had an opening of $45 million and went on to earn $389 million worldwide.
